FL Studio is one of the best programs for making music and it gets better with each release.
I have been using it since version 2 and now it is in version 10. The free lifetime updates are a great deal.

FL is great, use it with cubase and you won't need anything else, you can do almost anything you want. Try the demo and you will uninstall any other music production software you have on your pc.
