The Free Authentic-ID internet toolbar protects you from phishing and fraud by warning you when a website matches a list of known phishing sites, has suspicious characteristics, or its authenticity cannot be verified.
Phishing attacks use "spoofed" e-mails and fraudulent websites designed to fool you into divulging personal financial data such as credit card numbers, account passwords, and social security numbers. The Authentic-ID Toolbar easily plugs into your Internet Explorer browser. It warns you when you visit a known or suspicious web address no matter how you access it - email, web browser, chat, or document link. Authentic-ID uses a combination of techniques to check each web address you visit: signature database checks, behavioral analysis, and community feedback. You can save your own list of sites too. Authentic-IDs databases are updated in real time, so you'll never miss a fraudulent site because your product is out-of-date.
